Software Purchasing
Here's the link to buying software from the uni with a student discount. I'm not sure if you can upgrade versions of "student only" software so you may want to clarify that before making a purchase...

So how's that screen-printing going? It would be nice if you documented some of the process and posted some results on the blog... you know... photos... images...

This is mainly for Edwin's benefit...http://www.graphicthoughtfacility.com/projects/5/1 This is some stuff GTF did in collaboration with M/M Paris. Looks to me like there's been more GTF input than M/M Paris but thought you might find it interesting because its quite different to what we've seen from them so far

Artist talks
Hey everyone should take a look at TED.com — "(Technology, Entertainment, Design) is an invitation-only event where the world's leading thinkers and doers gather to find inspiration". There is heaps of great talks on a range of different subjects. Including a talk by Sagmeister on how graphic design makes him happy. Grace, you might also be interested in a talk by Martin Creed on the artworld mag website. Sophie, have you seen that Roni Horn aka Roni Horn has just opened at the Tate Modern? There is an discussion on her work here that is worth checking out. The Tate has a great archive of talks online which you can also subscribe to as podcasts.

The plan has changed. After reviewing your initial selection we felt that there wasn't sufficient material available for all the design selections to be researched thoroughly. So after a lengthy and incredibly scientific process you have all been given new Graphic Designers and new Artists to research. The list is as follows...
Sophie: Experimental Jetset vs Roni Horn
Johanna: Wolfgang Weingart vs Andreas Gurskey
Rosalee: GTF vs Olafur Eliasson
Melissa: Non Format vs Felix Gonzalez Torres
Han: Zuzana Licko vs Jeff Koons
Rachael: Frost vs John Baldessari
Ella: Peter Saville vs Yvonne Todd
Edwin: MM Paris vs Bill Culbert
Grace: Sagmeister vs Martin Creed
Chloe: Zak Kyes vs Cia Guo-Qiang
I found this guy Fernando Dutra whilst sufing the net. Unfornutately his work is only available from this one site: http://www.fernandodutra.com/ and the images aren't able to be saved or copied but you can scroll down through his 'interactive' portfolio of web design and product advertisement. His stuff is really vibrant, i like 'GUITTAR' in particular, and 'little bird' (which was the only image I could find elsewhere to put on the wall).
These sites are good for a look, so+ba and flag.cc - Bastien Aubry / Dimitri Broquard are both design studio's, not quite sure what bildsprache | fachklasse grafik biel-bienne | sfgb:b is, as its not in English, but it has lots of interesting pics from artists/designers
some interesting designers...
